I don’t have an answer, but I know a few interesting things about golf that you may find interest in.

1) How golf got its name: GOLF stands for Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden. Of course that male-only priviledge has recently changed to include women.

2) In Japan, if you score a hole-in-one, you have to have hole-in-one insurance. The Japanese consider that if you have been fortunate enough to score a h.i.o., then you need to spread that fortune with others. If you don’t have the insurance you could have to pay a lot of money, like a million dollars.

Let me guess – it’s from Warrior Custom Golf?

If so, I’d recommend you just ignore it. Let’s face it – you get what you pay for. Good golf clubs cost money.

A friend of mine signed up to demo Warrior clubs. He ended up trying to send them back (prior to paying for them per their guarantee). The guy basically sales-called him until he just took them at a fraction of the price.

I guarantee your “golf product grab bag” is:

a. Full of worthless crap.
b. NOT free (see “just for doing an evalulation”).
c. A waste of time.
d. A gateway to being called by this company for years to come.

My buddy had to basically pay them with a credit card for a set of clubs, and had 30 days to try them. If he shipped them back within 30 days, they would fully refund. If not, the charge would stick. When he called them, the guy basically knocked the price down 80% so he didn’t have to get them back. I’m sure he didn’t lose money on it – so take that for what it’s worth.

I was hitting a ping driver in a simulator at a pga golf store the other day. I think ideally you want about a 13 degree launch angle with a spin rate in the 2600-2700rpm range to maximize both carry and roll. Try a mid-kick shaft. It will whip through less at impact and impart less spin than a low-kick shaft will. Remember, a golf club is 90% shaft. Most drivers come with at least 3-4 shaft options that will vary by kick-point, weight, torque, etc. They will all react differently.

Yes, just like everyone else, since they’re all made in the same foundries in China and Taiwan. I’ve gamed two of their drivers, and yes, they are well-made.

They are Top-Flite clubs, not Callaway clubs. Callaway bought Top-Flite a few years back and kept their name. Top-Flite manufactures lower priced balls and equipment and, other than corporate ownership, have little to do with Callaway design, engineers or quality.

By they way, the Top_Flite Gamer is a pretty good 3-pice ball.

Get a golf club shipping box from a golf store (most have spares on hand or new ones). Pack it as if you were shipping it to someone. Check the club, you can not take a club on the flight.
